Main reasons for using fiberglass:
- Dielectric properties (does not conduct electricity): Unlike standard aluminum or steel ladders, fiberglass is an insulator. If accidentally touching a live wire, such a ladder won't deliver an electric shock or create grounding through a person. This is critically important for electricians, installers, and when working in environments with a risk of electric shock.
- Resistance to aggressive environments: Fiberglass is not afraid of moisture, does not rot like wood, and is impervious to corrosion from chemicals or salts.
- Strength and durability: This material is very rigid, does not deform under heavy weight, and does not bend as much as thin aluminum, providing greater stability at heights.
- Temperature resistance: Fiberglass does not heat up in the sun as much as metal and does not become icy in the cold, making it more comfortable to work with outdoors in any weather.
